Slight change of plans

Annual Chaboh Trip: KL - Bangkok - Laos - Bangkok - KL

Initially we were planning a KL - Bangkok - Udon Thani - Vientiane - Luang Prabhang - Bangkok - KL trip in 9 days. Certain legs of the journey would include long 10-hour rickety bus rides through notorious areas. And for most part, we'd be staying in cheap, budget hotels. It was going to be a "roughing it" kinda trip. The kind we always had (most of the time anyway).

But after visiting THIS WEBSITE, we suddenly had a change of heart. Instead of blazing through so many places in such a short time like we normally do, we thought why not spend all our time in Bangkok, and go to all the non-touristy nooks and crannies of the city. The website has some very interesting non-touristy recommendations on places to go, food to eat and things to do. Of course, they are holiday planners and you could entrust your holiday to them at a (very substantial) fee. But LY and I are just gonna take the lead from the blog on their website, and pick and choose where we want to go on our own.

So this time, it's gonna be less adventure, but more eating, discovering, relaxing and shopping. A slow holiday, so we won't come home wishing we could have another one to recover.

We're thinking of staying at this small and simple boutique hotel near KhaoSan Rd. Apparently they are an enviroment-friendly hotel, using recycled materials for the construction of their furniture and so on. They even serve healthy meals and organic meatless breakfasts (Chaboh, no bacon wor, howwww?). Not exactly a very cheap place, but it sounds mighty interesting. Plus we would be saving quite a fair bit by not going to Laos, cos the flight from Luang Prabhang to Bangkok would've cost us a couple of hundred anyway. So we'll see.

It's just 2.5 weeks away. Wooohooo!
