I'm flat-footed?

I never knew.
So when I went to New Balance in One Utama to get my first pair of New Balance running shoes, I was quite surprised to find out.

Not just that.
My left foot is actually half a size smaller than my right!
Uh. Great.

The dude recommended a few pairs that would offer my feet better support. And after I told him I have wonky knees as well, he narrowed down the choice to one pair that offered gel cushioning on top of other things. Here's some product description I pulled off the net.

The WR846 WN is known for superior fit and performance with features such as ABZORB SBS, Transitional Support and N-LOCK.

ABZORB SBS (Heel)
Maximum shock absorption stability and durability

ABZORB FL (Midsole) & ABZORB (Forefoot)
Exceptional shock absorption

N-LOCK & STABILITY WEB
Superior support in midfoot while reducing overall weight

N-DURANCE (Outsole)
Rubber compound for maximum durability in high-wear areas

PHANTOM LINER
Reduces abrasion and discomfort

AIR MESH
Lightweight and breathable

MEDIAL POST
Higher density compression molded EVA for pronation control

BLOWN RUBBER OUTSOLE
Lightweight and cushioned

SAFETY REFLECTIVE DETAIL
For running in the dark.

Good thing to know the folks at New Balance are runners themselves and know what they're doing. Better than the blur salespeople at most sport shops who can't get your size right, let alone feet type.

OK, New Balance is not as trendy as your Nike or Adidas. But as far as I'm concerned, it's function over style, anytime. Of course, my Pacesetters member's discount (30%) is a big bonus. I paid RM202 for a RM289 shoe. Score!
