Yippppppeeeee!

After a few mountain lodge booking miscommunication scares, YL and I are now quite sure of going up the mountain with two of her friends. Relief is an understatement because cancelling would mean forfeiting our tickets. Postponing would mean losing RM150, AND paying the additional difference in the airfare (we got pretty cheap tickets for the dates we booked). But alls well ends well... and we can't wait to go up.

Training has been put on hold for me thanks to bad flu the past week, but I hope to get back into it this weekend, flu or no flu. Doesn't help that a 10km run is just over a month away and I'm not even close to being in shape for it. The Mount K climb is about 2 weeks after the run.

Meanwhile, LY and I are very excited. We've decided to go to Laos and Bangkok for our holiday this year. Been looking at travel websites. Comparing itineraries. Reading travel blogs. We only have 9 days, including time spent travelling from one spot to another. So we have to plan everything down to every detail. Best part is, we'll be using some of her free Air Asia vouchers (ahh, the perks of working with an airline).

So far, our itinerary is looking like this.
Like our KL - Siem Reap - Phnom Penh - Bangkok - Chiang Mai - KL trip last year, it looks almost a little like an Amazing Race episode.

28 April - 6 May

- Fly AirAsia KL - Bangkok.

- Fly AirAsia Bangkok - Udon Thani. Spend a night.

- Take a bus to Vientiane, Laos via the Friendship Bridge. Spend a night in Vientiane.

- Take a 10-hour bumpy bus journey to Luang Prabhang. We may or may not stop in Vang Vieng along the way. Spend about 3 days in Luang Prabhang, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

- Fly Bangkok Air back to Bangkok. Spend about 3 days in Bangkok for some R&R and shopping.

- Fly Air Asia back to KL.

If only we have more time to visit the Plain of Jars in Ponsavan. But that's a 24hr bus ride from Vientiane. So many places to go. So little time. So few leave days. Sigh.

So many trips..what's wrong with US lah? Have LY check the fineprint on the vouchers to see if it can be used for Chicago.

Mint: HAHAHAHA. Unfortunately, AirAsia doesn't fly to the US. So far it's only South East Asia, but there's talk of it flying to the UK soon. How about it? ;) Then we can make that detour to visit dear Sven and Bjorg. HAHAHAHAHAHAAHA! (I can only dream on...)
