Holidays are a-comin'
At this time next week I'll be lounging on the beaches of Rawa Island with D for 4 days. It's a beautiful small island off the southern east coast of the Malaysian Peninsular. And one of the less commercialised ones. There is nothing much to do apart from taking in the sun, sand and sea (times like this I wish I have a diving license). But having nothing to do IS the whole point to a relaxing vacation. We plan to fish, snorkel, read and pose as beached whales. Ahhh...
For a more adventurous holiday, Wandernut and Itchyfeet are going on our annual escapade (well, not so annual cos we didn't go anywhere last year). This time it's Siem Reap - Phnom Penh - Bangkok - Chiangmai.
We'll be spending 3.5 days in Siem Reap, 1.5 days in Phnom Penh, a day in Bangkok and 3 days in Chiangmai. Of course, we're flying Air Asia, the budget airline. So we had to plan our departures around certain dates to take advantage of flunctuating fare prices.
Our plan: explore the Angkor Wat (unfortunately, we won't be doing any bad guy extermination ala Angelina Jolie), experience the culture, food and night life; then take a bus to Phnom Penh to visit the museums; then fly to Bangkok to eat and shop; then to Chiang Mai to eat, shop and relax with a spa or two.
I can't wait to pack my bags.
Now it's back to work.
Pfffffttt.
