Pigging out and getting lazy

V-Day
Last week, D and I celebrated V-Day in true D & Nut style. Stuffing our faces, first at Subway on Thursday. Then a buffet the day after V-day so we could escape the crazy expensive set dinners. And there were some surprising gifts along the way. A new cap and running socks! Whoooppeeee! And a bluetooth earphone. How very thoughtful. And so very sweet cos I didn't expect anything at all. I guess he got quite terrified of me driving and answering calls / text-messaging at the same time. Hahaaa... sure beats silly roses or getting suckered into typical V-day promos! We had fun, and we both knew if he could just prop his chair by the chocolate fountain and stick his face in it, he would.

LY Day
Last Sunday, LY and I celebrated her birthday with a nice leisurely lunch, then we explored Pavilion for the first time in town. Huge. Later, we went over to Asprey in Starhill so LY could look at her 'dream ring' from the Keira collection, just for fun. It was quite a challenge to keep a straight face cos we pretended to be interested customers, cooking up a story about her non-existent fiance wanting to know her 'dream ring' and ring size. It was a riot and the sales girl took it hook, line and sinker.

LY tried the ring. We took pictures. And found out that the ring she liked wasn't exactly out of reach, though it would mean no more holidays for the entire year, hmmm, make that 2 or 3 years. It's a simple thick white gold ring with a small strip of pave diamonds (diamond dust) on a spinning outer ring. Understated but pretty. Just like the birthday girl.

We walked out with an Asprey paper bag.
Empty, apart from a thick purple catalogue. LY was a happy camper and on a high after having that ring on her finger. If only for a few minutes. Hahahaha.

Laziness
The post CNY illness and fatigue lingered on for quite abit. The cough was rather annoying and took about 2 weeks to heal. Doesn't help that I've been busy at work. It was hard to get back into training and I only managed a short run on Thursday morning and a swim this morning. My body was stiff and tired. So I listened to it and didn't want to overdo it. Looks like I'll have to get back into the groove soon. KLIM 21km is just over a month away. Aaaiiiieeeeee....

IRONMAN Langkawi
Just found out online that AS, MS and AI have completed the Ironman within qualifying time. CONGRATULATIONS! You people are an inspiration. Woohoo! Wah, looking forward to my first Olympic distance triathlon in May. So semangat now!
