Sorng more days!

Sorng in Thai means TWO!
Sorng in Cantonese means FUN!

And it's FUN in TWO more days as far as I'm concerned.

Flying off to Bangkok at 8.30am, so I'll have to be at LCCT by 6.30am. We're taking the shuttle bus from Subang Parade at 5.30am so should be just nice for check-in! :D

I'm so looking forward to the Hotcakes at the LCCT McDonalds! Hotcakes! Hotcakes! The last time I had them was before I flew to Kota Kinabalu.

Damn.
I haven't changed my money.
I haven't packed.
I haven't sorted out the stuff I need to do before I go (make sure all bills/utilities are paid etc).
Eeeeek!

Okay. So here's our rough itinerary, including the stuff we plan to eat when we're there.

5 - 8 May : Cha Am
- Stay at Casa Papaya.
- Be a beach / pool / hammock bum with a good book.
- Venture out to Cha Am town for food including the locally popular Shylae Seafood at the Fishing Village.

8 - 13 May : Bangkok
- Stay at The Bedrooms, Sukhumvit, near On Nut BTS Station.
- Main agenda is to relax, EAT and shop!

- Pad Thai at Thipsamai, said to be the most famous and the best pad thai shop in Bangkok. At the same shop, there's apparently the 'best' orange juice and frozen coconut juice too.

- BBQ Fish at the stalls on Soi Rambutri. They say there's cheap beer here. Singha Light, I hear you calling out my name.

- Steak aged for 28 days from a local Thai farm at Sukhumvit. No address, but there's a phone number. Guess we'll just have to find someone who speaks both English and Thai to help us locate this place.

- Thonglor is apparently a food paradise with lots of street stuff, a food market and simple eateries worth exploring. A skytrain goes straight there. Wheee!

- Shrimp on a Stick at Sukhumvit Soi 69. Only in the mornings. Apparent 6 juicy shrimps for 20 baht. Wah, hope we can find this little street cart.

- Amaltery Adult Ice-Cream. Sounds so very, very naughty. But by adult they mean alcoholic, with flavours like 'Bitchin Margarita' and 'Midnight Mojito'. Bangkok is apparently at a scorching heat of 42 degrees. No harm, right? Hic.

- Late night Moo Ping (grilled PORK) from a street vendor in Silom. Ironically, it's right outside California Fitness.

- Food For Fun Food Court at Siam Center.

- Chutaros Beef Noodles opposite MBK. Popular with office workers and uni students around the area.

- Pork & Liver Satay and Guay Jub Mr. X's rolled noodles with giblets and crispy pork in soup at the Yaowarat Area in Chinatown.

- Kwan Jai Mango & Nam Pla Waan (sweet fish sauce) for different types of mango salad with their famous sauce, also in Chinatown.

- Royal Thai Food by a family whose grandpa used to cook for the royal family. Now we get to eat what they eat at Poj Spa Kar in Tanao Road.

- Chotechitr, apparently a favourite home-style restaurant among the locals in Bangkok.

- Bangkok Sea View, a seafood restaurant by a river. Apparently it's quite a long drive and short boat ride away from the city. Address is in Thai so I have no clue where it is exactly. But apparently it's very popular among the locals.

- Somboon Po Cha Na for stir-fried crab with curry powder. So famous, even royalty ask for take-aways.

- Thip Volcanic Fried Mussels and Oysters. It's been around for 70 years. Wonder if it's like 'or chien'.

These are the must-eats in 5 days.
YUM YUM!

We also plan to hit Chatuchak, MBK, Platinum and the night markets for shopping! And for entertainment, there's the Saxophone Bar near the Victory Monument. I was there 6 years ago on a company trip and it was an amazing place. Great music. Great musicians jamming. Cheap booze. Really nice atmosphere (think the old No Black Tie but with more space).

LY and I went there again last year when we had our Bangkok stopover from Cambodia. But it was closed thanks to Wesak celebrations that weekend. Hope it'll be open this time!

No plans to go clubbing or anything (we so aunty oredi... at least, I am), but we may go check out the Sky Bar at Sirrocco. Apparently very nice wor. From the pictures, I'm sure it won't disappoint, unlike the
grossly over-rated Felix Bar on top of The Peninsula in HK. Phhhbbt!

Wheee!
Can't wait! Can't wait!
