Happy Valentine's Day

A friend, E, who's the marketing manager at Bangkok Jazz asked me if my usual singing group would like to perform at her joint on Valentine's Day. Most of them were involved in a stage production at the moment. Only me and D were available, and E asked if we could come up with something anyway.

We put together a show called "A Cynic's Valentine's Day". Figured that there were probably enough lovey-dovey romance-romance type of gigs going on everywhere in town. So we sang songs of heartbreak and loneliness last night and it was quite an experience.

For one, it's the first time D and I performed together in public, in our own act. We were both nervous wrecks because we didn't clock in alot of practice time. And it didn't help that we were both so busy the past 2 weeks and could only squeezed in some practice whenever we could.

Not to mention we only rehearsed with their band yesterday afternoon itself. The band was really good. But D and I being well, amateurs in more ways than one, we would've been more confident if we had more practice with them.

The crowd was pretty decent and some of them were friends. So we warmed up after awhile. And overall they seemed to have enjoyed themselves.

More importantly, D and I had fun.
And it was a memorable Valentine's Day for us, albeit a stressful one!

D surprised me with some flowers earlier that day. Thank God it was bought from a charity drive at his workplace, so it's money spent for a good cause (and not to pad the coffers of over-priced florists).

What did I get him?
Err.. what do I get a guy who already has the best thing he can get?

Moi.
