Oh, begone ye green monster!
Envy is so bad for health.
Really, it is.
Remember the Discovery GlobeTrekker Host audition I went for a year ago? It's where I made the Top 10 at the Malaysian Semi-final, but not the Top 3 to represent Malaysia at the Grand Finals in Singapore. The eventual winner was Singaporean Lavinia Tan.
Anyway, I stumbled upon a Food Presenter audition for a new food series today. And while checking out the website, www.pilotguide.com, I found Ms. Lavinia's account of last year's audition for Globetrekker Host. It's exactly what we went through in KL (click to read).
Amazing thing is, she didn't make it to the top 3 at the Singaporean Semi's either. But was given a wild card entry at the Grand Finals, which she ultimately won.
As the new Globetrekker host, she went on to host the programme in Bahamas and Florida (click here to read about her and her experience).
Wow.
*sniff sniff*
As for the Food Presenter audition, I might have missed the application deadline cos the ad was put out a few weeks ago. I popped the producer an email anyway, to find out if they're still looking.
If there's anything I'd love to do for a living,
it's to travel and eat, eat and travel.
One of two ain't too bad.
*keeping fingers crossed*

didn't know you tried for the discovery one last year... too bad you didnt get it :( had thought frivolously that it would be fun to try (like you said, what better job than to travel and eat!) but i couldn't leave dear spotty behind, and i'd be very nervous if they were to send me to scary underdeveloped nations! i am NOT adventurous... samantha brown in europe, now THAT's the kind of stuff i'd wanna do ;)
snowie: hmmmph, hate samantha brown, hate her hate her :) (sniff sniff)... peace on earth to all mankind.... peace on earth to all mankind...
