Smelling gum trees.
It was a wonderful week in Adelaide. Had wonderful Italian at Cibo on Darren's birthday (they also serve the creamiest thickest hot chocolate ever). Walked around the city. Visited his quaint university (Uni of Adelaide). Took a tram to Glenelg beach. Rode a camel. Pigged out on mounds of shaved lamb and greasy fries. And we even appeared on Adelaide TV (one of those spy cameras).
We also took a trip to the Mount Lofty lookout. Walked around its beautiful botanical gardens. Visited the lovely German town called Hahndorff. And of course, Barossa Valley.
I also had the best Vietnamese I've ever tasted on Uncle Paul's birthday. Played endless ping pong. Had amazing cinammon donuts at Victor Harbour. Went cockling at Goolwa beach. Oooh! So fun! So cold! And the Chinatown market is a food haven. Colourful fresh fruit and veges, fish, sausages, meats, fresh pasta, cheeses and even coffee beans.
But what I enjoyed most were the walks Darren and I took around his neighboorhood at night. The cool crisp air smelling of gum trees under the dark starry sky.
One week went by too quickly. Now it's back to work. Sigh sigh sigh. Miss you baby!
