If today was your last day on earth, what would you do?
Read in The Star today that Lake Toba in Sumatra is a super volcano. Which means its explosion could potentially kick the world back into the ice age (ashes from a super volcano blast could block the sun and change the world's climate). Sitting right on the fault line that caused the last two quakes and just across the Straits of Malacca, it is rather too close for comfort.
It could happen in the next few years or a thousand years. Scientists couldn't tell. Anyhow, knowing this puts life back in perspective for me. Every moment I have on earth is precious. The people I have are precious.
If today was my last day on earth, I would spend it with the people I love. Hold them a little closer, hug them a little longer and spend more time in prayer.
I can imagine the film industry will cash in on the tsunami/super volcano theme very soon. I wonder if it'll be any better than the asteroid-crashes-into-Earth-and-obliterates-life genre.
